Hi All. Wick here. Today’s topic is sheds! We’re headed into the summer lawn mowing season. Where do you keep your lawn mower? Or if you’re a grass antagonist where do you keep your gardening tools? Not in your garage of course. That’s for all of your stuff:)
The answer: you need a shed!
Here is our shed. Lovingly hand crafted with my dad and brother using materials from the rebuilding center. You can also get sheds prebuilt from Home Depot. Recently we moved this shed to get it off the property line because it was not code compliant. You might have seen my post about that!
We don’t have a name for our shed but if it was Sheddy, I would say Sheddy and I have been through a lot:)
Here are 3 things you might like to know about sheds:
1. Boundary lines. They need to be 5 feet away from your lot line. There is code that allows closer to your lot line but you need to have firewall protection. I would check with the city for specifics:)
2. Height. It can’t exceed 10’ in height from the interior floor to the average height of the shed. My average height is about here. Here’s my tape measurement. 9 feet!
3. Square footage. No more than 200 sqft. That’s a 10×20’ footprint.
Remember whether you shed build a shed or you shed not build a shed, don’t shed on yourself, just do it!
Also a friendly reminder if you know someone who wants to buy or sell a home we would love to help them out!
And as always Thanks for watching!
